The Triton Poker Super High Roller Series Returns to Monte-Carlo in November

The Triton Poker Super High Roller Series is hosting its next event of 2024 in Monte Carlo from November 1 to 14, 2024.

Its the poker tour with the biggest buy-ins in the world and only the PokerGo Tour comes close to matching the stakes that are played for at Triton events.  But in reality it’s a distant second as the buy-ins at Triton events can get as high as £1m. The minimum buy-in at the 2024 Monte-Carlo edition is $20,000.

Its Not Life Changing Money as All the Players are Loaded

Now, if I had asked an AI to write this article it would probably have said that the players can win “life changing money” but that’s nonsense, because everyone who plays the Triton events is already loaded. Yes, they might win a truck load of cash, but it won’t be life changing for them.

So if you’re reading this story on another site and they refer to life-changing money, be aware that whoever plugged it into AI to get that kind of response did a pretty bad job. The series will take place at the iconic Salle des Étoiles at the Monte-Carlo Sporting Club, the same venue where the EPT takes place, which has a retractable roof.

The European Poker Tour (EPT) likes to open this roof on the opening day of the Main Event to give the players a bit of a wow factor. Given that this is Triton, we wouldn’t put it past them to go one better and have the TD Luca Vivaldi parachute in from the open roof, land in the middle of the tournament floor and announce shuffle up and deal.

The Exclusive Triton Invitational

One of the highlights of the stop of the Triton Invitational. It’s a $200,000 +$10,000 tournament which balances the number of pros with the ‘businessmen,’ (high net worth individuals). Pros can only participate if they are invited to do so by one of the whales.

This is the same format that Triton used for the Triton Million in London in 2019 and will be used for the $500,000 version that is being held at WSOP Paradise in December.

In this tournament, the businessmen and poker pros play the first 8 levels separately before the field is merged.

Moneymaker at the Last Triton Event

The previous Triton event held in October 2023 saw Chris Moneymaker make headlines by winning the 25,000 GGMillion$ Live earning 903,000. Moneymaker, came back from just one big blind to defeat a tough final table that included notable players like Brian Kim and Isaac Haxton.

This victory took the 2003 WSOP Main Event Champion’s lifetime earnings to over $7 million. There is no GGMilliion$ event on the schedule this time, so Chris will just have to win one of the other tournaments on the schedule this time.
