The PokerGO Studio at ARIA Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada, witnessed intense action on Thursday as Event 4 $5,100 No-Limit Hold'em of the PGT Kickoff unfolded.
The tournament attracted 126 entrants, with Martin Zamani emerging as the chip leader among the final seven players.
Martin Zamani is currently leading the final seven players in Event 4 with a stack of 5,535,000. Zamani's ascent to the top spot was marked by a remarkable run in the latter stages of play. He single-handedly eliminated the final four players of the night.
The final table line-up features a mix of seasoned professionals and rising stars, including Michael Vanier, Sam Soverel, Joey Weissman, Eric Blair, Spencer Champlin, and Patrick Leonard.
These seven contenders will reconvene on Friday at 12 p.m., each already assured of a $25,200 payout. However, the stakes are much higher for the top finisher, who stands to claim a $157,500 first-place prize, 315 PGT points, and the coveted Event #4 trophy.
The tournament's 126-entry field generated a substantial prize pool of $630,000, with the top 18 finishers securing a share. Ryan Leng experienced déjà vu as he became the bubble boy for the second consecutive day. His ace-queen succumbed to Zamani's ace-nine when a nine appeared on the river, sealing Leng's fate.
Notable eliminations in the money included Kristen Foxen (18th), Brandon Sunshine (17th), Justin Saliba (16th), Jeff Madsen (15th), Igor Yaroshevskyy (14th), David Chen (13th), Andrew Lichtenberger (12th), John Riordan (11th), Yunkyu Song (10th), and David Peters (9th).
The final elimination of the night saw Beka Iordanishvili's tournament run end in eighth place. His queen-ten failed to improve against Zamani's king-jack on a low-card board, setting the stage for the seven-handed final table.
CoinPoker ambassador Patrick Leonard continues his impressive streak reaching his third final table (shortest stack) in four events after a sixth-place finish in Event #1 and a top place finish in Event #2.
Joey Weissman returns for his second final table appearance following a fourth-place finish in Event #2, while Michael Vanier secures back-to-back final table appearances after placing fifth in Event #3. Sam Soverel, Eric Blair, Martin Zamani, and Spencer Champlin each celebrate their first cash of the series with this final table appearance.
The PGT Kickoff marks the inaugural series of the 2025 PGT season, offering players a unique opportunity to earn double PGT points for all cashes. This amplified point structure provides a significant boost for players aiming to climb the PGT leaderboard early in the season.
As the tournament heads into its final stage, all eyes will be on Zamani to see if he can turn his chip lead into a winning title.
